About Anchor of Hope

Anchor of Hope is a faith-based community non-profit dedicated to providing free medical and support services to women and families facing unintended pregnancies.

As a life-affirming medical center, our goal is to help families live abundantly pro-life.

We are completely funded by our local community. Churches, individuals, and businesses make up our family of supporters, allowing us to be a parachurch ministry in Sheboygan County.

Our Mission:
Anchor of Hope is a life-affirming clinic encouraging healthy sexual choices, sharing the hope, compassion and truth found in Jesus.

Our Vision:
Our vision is a culture where lives are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and human life is deemed sacred and affirmed by all.

Timeline
One year anniversary celebration is held at the S Taylor Drive location.
Well Women’s Exams are added to services and performed by nurse volunteers.
Four hundred and twelve clients are served. Sixty-eight decisions for life are made in 2021.
The Center joins the Care Net Organization.
7th Annual Gala is held at The Village at 170 in Kohler, WI, as two events once again. The speaker is Sue Thayer from 40 Days for Life.
40 Days for Life fall campaign is held in front of Planned Parenthood on the S Taylor Drive location.
703 N 9th Street location is sold.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Chamber Commerce of Sheboygan at the new S Taylor Drive location is held.
  • The Center is gifted with an upgraded ultrasound machine. The Center celebrates with a blessing by one of the local priests.
  • Administrative Assistant position is added to the team.
The Center opens at 1018 S Taylor Drive in Sheboygan. An open house celebration is held the following weekend.
Bookkeeper position is added to the team.
40 Days for Life spring campaign is held in front of Planned Parenthood on the S Taylor Drive location.
Plans are underway to move across the street from Planned Parenthood at 1018 S Taylor Drive in Sheboygan. Renovations begin on S. Taylor property.
Three hundred thirty-seven clients are served. Sixty-eight decisions for life are made in 2020.
Two sets of twins are saved through the work of the Center.
  • 6th Annual Gala is held at The Village at 170 in Kohler, WI. Gala is turned into two events on the same day, a luncheon, and a dinner due to Covid 19 outbreak. The speaker is Kirk Walden.
  • The lease is signed for S. Taylor Dr location.
First APR client served.
Ad hoc committee formed as a result of April 2019 board planning retreat to investigate facility needs and develop a plan to meet the needs.
Marketing Specialist position is added to the team. Three hundred twenty-one clients are served. Forty-nine decisions for life are made in 2019.
5th Annual Gala is held at The Village at 170 in Kohler, WI. The speaker is, Father Matthew Widder.
The abortion pill reversal (APR) is now offered in Sheboygan County through Anchor of Hope.
  • Sip & support Fundraising event is held at The Blind Horse Restaurant and Winery.
  • Board planning retreat – determined facility needs (for a larger space and a more strategic location).
Two hundred sixty-four clients are served. Twenty-nine decisions for life are made in 2018.
4th Annual Gala is held at the Osthoff Resort and Conference Center in Elkhart Lake. Speakers are Dr. Mark Knabel & Dr. Mark Bettag.
A Sip & Support event is held at The Blind Horse Restaurant and Winery.
Staff nurse is hired.
End of year reports 125 clients served. Twenty-five decisions for life are made.
3rd Annual Gala is held at the Osthoff Resort and Conference Center in Elkhart Lake. Speaker is Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila.
Ribbon Cutting and public announcement of STI services.
Soft launch of STI services; all labs and collection paraphernalia are donated.
Hired client services manager.
Hired nurse sonographer.
Bank loan paid off; all medical certifications complete. Fifty-seven clients are served in 2016. Six decisions for life are made.
State of WI approves trade name addition to operate as Anchor of Hope Health Center retaining corporate name of New Hope Pregnancy Center of Sheboygan, Inc.
Second Annual Gala – held at the Osthoff Resort and Conference Center, speaker is Mareza Landeros; unveiling of the rebranding logo, and announcement of Anchor of Hope Health Center name change.
First patient served with the ultrasound machine.

Ultrasound purchased, and training begins. Radiologist, Dr. Stephen Falconer and RDMS, Deanna Riley, begin volunteering for ultrasound services; CLIA waiver approved by the state.

Medical staff hired – Nurse Manager position filled.
Year ends serving 10 clients in the 4 months it is open in 2015. One decision for life is made.
1st Annual Fundraising Gala held at Town and Country Club Restaurant in Sheboygan. Speaker is Julaine Appling of WI Family Council.
Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and public Grand Opening at the N 9th Street location.
First official day of client services was August 27, 2015 – first client walks in that day!
First Client Advocate Training – 9 trainees trained by 4 Center representatives.
Directors (Development and Operations) hired and begin work.
The Center joins NIFLA Organization and the Heartbeat International Organization.
Demolition and construction start on purchased building.
Teens for Life provide the down payment building at 703 N 9th Street in Sheboygan. The Board of Directors purchase the property.
IRS designation as a 501C3 non-profit approved. Fund drives started with churches throughout Sheboygan County.
Corporate charter filed: New Hope Pregnancy Center, Inc.
Originating Board is in place – Articles of Incorporation (Nonstock Corporation) filed with the State of Wisconsin as New Hope Pregnancy Center of Sheboygan, Inc.
Group of like-minded persons start forming a Board of Directors to establish a Pregnancy Center in Sheboygan County. Teens for Life had previously raised funds for a Center resulting in a $10,000 donation to the Pregnancy Center. Teens for Life also covered the legal fees to file the application for incorporation.
KC’s finish fund drive and have money for ultrasound machine, but no pregnancy center in Sheboygan County. Discussions are started about the possibility of starting a Pregnancy Help Center in Sheboygan.
40 Days for Life event: Sheboygan County Right to Life, Sheboygan County Teens for Life, several church groups, and KC’s hold a prayer vigil in front of the Planned Parenthood office.

Several Sheboygan County churches, and pro-life groups, joined together to plan a spring 40 Days for Life event in Sheboygan. Meetings were held at the KC Center to plan for the 40-day prayer event to be held in front of Planned Parenthood in Sheboygan.

The Knights of Columbus start a fund drive for an ultrasound machine.
